In the Autumn of 2005, Cumbria Organics helped to coordinated a number of projects to mark “Organic Week”, a nationwide “Feast of Flavours” organised by the Soil Association. In Eden the programme included an audio-visual installation by digital artist Debby Akam and musician Jilly Jarman featuring local young people cooking, eating, and talking about why organic food is important to them. The artists, who both live and work in the Eden area of Cumbria, were commissioned by Cumbria Organics to undertake an innovative project exploring attitudes of young people towards food and the countryside. They have worked in partnership with the ECO (Eden Community Outdoors) programme of summer camps for young people (age range 5-20) in the Eden Valley.
