Rope (2000) DVD: 8 minutes
A bright orange climbing rope traced the line of a journey through the farm as it added a temporary layer to the landscape. Playful rather than functional, it alluded to the invasion of leisure activities into the natural world, as it slithered into the undergrowth like a snake.
Exhibited at St Michael’s Church, Appleby, April 2001.
One of a series of video installations in rural locations that were carried out as part of an art practice- based Ph.D in digital art in the rural environment.
