Welcome Welcome to the web site of the visual artists Debby Akam and Gary Power. We are based in the Eden Valley close to the Lake District National Park where we have an exhibition, research and production space called Cumbria Contemporary Art. We work independently on our own practice and collaboratively on a variety of art projects. We share an interest in exploring innovative approaches to contemporary art across a wide variety of media and strategies. Working in a rural environment often informs our activity providing inspiration and a context in which to investigate current issues, particularly surrounding the countryside. This web site includes our most recent work, together with documentation of artwork and projects completed over the last few years. This includes examples of sculpture, video installations; paintings, art in architecture; digital ceramics; participatory public art; art practice research; mosaics; printmaking and drawing.
